How can I upgrade from Microsoft 2003 to 2007?

I have microsoft 2003 already installed in my computer, but do i have to buy upgrade to Microsoft 2007 or is it possible to just buy Micorsoft 2007and install it, if its not the upgrade.
Also, how can u do that?
Its just that i already bought the program [...]
